Pro Hamas Rallies Across America

I'm guessing that most of you probably didn't know this, but yesterday, all across our great nation, there were pro hamas rallies held. I was on the verge of going to the one in Tampa to quietly hold up my pro Israel signs, but being sick and not having anyone to take care of the little guys at home put a quick stop to that plan. Sadly, if I am reading a blog post on Atlas Shrugs correctly, there were only 3 pro-Israeli ralliest there. I wish I could've made it. But here is a video of the one in Ft. Lauderdale. As you watch this compare and contrast the difference to the reaction of my faith when a temple and church was almost stormed by the gays and gay supporters in Westwood. Notice how the majority of the women are covered up. Notice how they bring their children to an event that almost became quite violent, an event where they are yelling vulgarity and hatred. Notice how when they are called to prayer by their immam that there are no women there praying with them. Listen to the hatred, the anger, and the vile coming out of their mouths. All in the name of their religion which they espouse to be peaceful.

These immigrants come to our country, bringing their hatred and enmity with them. They expect us, as a nation, to accept it, to embrace it, and we as the infidels are offered only three possibilities: death, conversion to Islam, or a life of permanent humiliation, degradation, and physical insecurity as dhimmis under Muslim rule.

Folks, this is starting to happen in your backyard. The politically correct in this country are going to give away our rights, freedoms, and liberties by not standing up to this and stopping it before it is too late. Europe is probably beyond the point of being able to stop the "islamization" of many of it's countries. Sharia courts operate in Britain and look into Holland to see what has happened there. Europeans are quickly learning to expect daily attacks that used to be unheard of.

Two Israelis attacked in Denmark mall, from the Jerusalem Post, December 31
Two Israelis were lightly wounded when they were shot by a group of men in a mall in Copenhagen, Denmark on Wednesday afternoon.
The Israelis were selling Dead Sea cosmetics at a stand in the mall - a job many young Israelis pursue, usually following military service, in order to save money for their future, and to continue their travels.
A group of men with Middle Eastern-looking features approached them and an altercation developed. A man in the group then brandished a weapon and fired at the Israelis.
The public's assistance was requested in capturing the shooter, who was probably a Palestinian, police said. His getaway car was already found but he had fled on foot....

It is time to stand up for and support Israel. Check out http://www.jihadwatch.org/ for much more info on what is happening world wide.

I find peace in the fact that over 150 years ago, Orson Hyde traveled to the holy land to dedicate the Mount of Olives. In his prayer on the Mount of Olives he invoked the Lord’s blessings on both the land and on all the children of Abraham. There, with pen and paper, he recorded a prayer of dedication previously given him by revelation. In the prayer, he asked the Lord to inspire “kings and the powers of the earth” to help “restore the kingdom unto Israel.” He also prayed that the Lord would remember his promises to all the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. In the years since that prayer, we have seen the fulfillment of many of Elder Hyde’s requests. More are yet to be fulfilled. (David B. Galbraith, “Orson Hyde’s 1841 Mission to the Holy Land,” Ensign, Oct 1991)

Guitar Hero ROCKS!!!

I mentioned in my last post that Kade got Guitar Hero as one of his gifts. He had saved his money and purchased an X Box off of Ebay earlier this year. At Sams club I found the latest GH version that came with 2 wireless guitars and the game for under $100 bucks. I can't put the dang thing down!! FINALLY a video game that I can BEAT WADE AT!!!!! Yippee!!!! Wade and I have had so much fun playing that we went out to Walmart and found the drums for under $50 and now we can play in band mode. Not to stroke my own ego or anything, but you really need to know how good I am at the drums. I have mastered the medium level and am moving on to hard. My youngest brother was slightly impressed by this as he was under the impression that the drums were hard. Even my kids are in awe of my awesome drumming skills. My 6th & 7th grade percussion playing days are finally paying off! I've looked at all of the stores to find the microphone for band mode to add in the vocals (you have to know what a karaoke singing fool I am to understand my absolute need for this) Unfortunately no dice. It seems to only come in Rock Band. There is a singing game for X Box that comes with 2 mics, but I'm not sure that they will work with GH, so I need to do some research on the matter.

Kade is waiting, impatiently, but waiting, for his hard drive to come in the mail. Once it is here and we are so going live and I challenge you, yes you, each and everyone one of you, to a live GH band rock off. Get your band together. Get your fingers rocking. Warm up your vocals because the game is ON!!!!! (If you happen to have a PS2 or 3 or Wii GH I am really disappointed and slightly deflated at this point. Your mission if you are willing to accept it: FIND SOMEONE WITH AN X BOX LIVE AND STALK THEM UNTIL THEY ALLOW YOU TO BEG BORROW OR STEAL THEIR UNIT!!!)

Christmas '08

We all had a nice day yesterday, for the most part. Of course, Kyrie and Wade got into it last night, nothing new there, and Daniel started throwing up again last night, but I think everyone had a good morning. Started out opening presents and I think everyone was happy with their gifts.

Dan and Jake both got HUGE Bag the Bed Bean Bags. Remember my puff pillow? Well, these are about 2X the size of mine that was so fun and comfy. Jake slept on his last night, Daniel barfed on his. The covers are removable and washable thank goodness. When you take the covers off they lay out into queen sized puffy "beds". Pretty cool.

Kade's main gift of an X Box hard drive and an I Pod touch look-a-like didn't arrive in the mail yet, but he did get his Guitar Hero and everyone has had a great time playing it.

Kyrie's main request was UGG boots, chestnut, tall. I ordered what she told me, but apparently not the right ones. She wanted classic. Well, she didn't tell me classic, so she is going to ship them back for an exchange. She was happy with her new comforter set though.

Wade received the entire collection of 007 movies up to Casino Royale and a juicer. We picked as many tangerines off of our tree as we could and made some fresh juice. Pretty tasty! I got a nice papasan chair from Pier 1. We received a beautiful nativity from the Fosters that they picked up while they were in Israel. Since I've always so admired Sarah's nativity she brought back I was very happy to see this one. Will take a photo of it later and post it.

Made breakfast, had a nice dinner and now am left with the mess to clean up. Not to forget the true meaning of Christmas though: I am so grateful for the birth of our Saviour and the ultimate gift that he and our Father in Heaven gave to us.

Now, HAPPY BIRTHDAY WADE. YOU ARE OFFICIALLY AN OLD MAN!!!

Joy To the World...Daniel Just Barfed

I had been reading on line about the problem England is having with a severe stomach virus that is threatening to cripple their hospital systems. I even considered the odds of hitting Disney World, knowing that there would be many English people there, and one of us contracting the dreaded disease. Sure enough...Daniel just puked. Needless to say, I'm sure I'm next as he likes to share my drinks when I'm not looking. Christmas is going to be oh so fun.

WARNING TMI COMING: As I'm scrubbing the puke up out of the carpet, not to mention scrubbing the grease out too because some nameless person used my scrub brush to clean the grill unbeknown to me, that unnamed person wanted to know if he was still getting "lucky" tonight....ummmmm...ladies....what do you think?

Watch Me Slam My Head in the Door....again and again and again

***UPDATE***MEA CULPA!! These awards were given by the Media Research Center for the years worst reporting. I feel better, but still can't stand Matthews and Olbermann****
The MSM just came out with their best of notable quotables for 2008. You can find them here Check it out, if only to see the categories. Why these things are considered the most notable quotes of the year is beyond me.

These make me want to slam my head in the door, repeatedly just to be able to ignore the pain they cause. Listening to Keith Olbermann literally makes blood spurt from my eyes.

I'm sure Olbermann and Matthews are involved in some sick twisted gay lover triangle with some poor unsuspecting woman. Oh, wait? I need to verify my facts before reporting them as news? You mean nobody really wants to hear my political view spouted as fact and what the public is really thinking? Well, dang. I guess these two missed what investigative journalism, well, any type of journalism really is when taking all of those classes in college. Who'da thunk it?

Oops....posted this on the wrong site...here it is for the Fosters

Okay, So I LIED

I am usually one of those frank, tell the truth no matter what kind of gals. I wouldn't want you to think I lied on purpose. It was an accident, really. Kyrie's good friend from B'ham is at Disney World with her bro and dad and wants Kyrie to come for the day. Sigh....Kyrie, who claims she HATES theme parks, Kyrie who every time I MAKE her go with the family sits on a bench while we do the fun stuff, giving us all dirty looks, and only smiles or has fun when I'm not looking. Kyrie, who would rather sleep in until 12:00 noon every day, who went to bed late last night, is up bright and early before 8:00am getting us all out of bed so she can be there on time.

I've decided since I have to drive there anyways, I will take the boys for the day too. I just love fighting the crowds, especially with a stroller.

In other news. I will never be embarrassed or disappointed that I voted for the Bush/Cheney ticket twice. While I certainly don't agree with the bailout crap that has been going on, or his policy on immigration/illegals/amnesty, I think he has a bit more insight into these issues and probably knows more about them than I do and did what he thought was right. Both of these men are heroes in my book and here is just one reason why.

Washington Times:

Bush, Cheney comforted troops privately: Met with thousands of war injured, kin out of spotlight

by Joseph Curl and John Solomon

For much of the past seven years, President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney have waged a clandestine operation inside the White House. It has involved thousands of military personnel, private presidential letters and meetings that were kept off their public calendars or sometimes left the news media in the dark.

Their mission: to comfort the families of soldiers who died fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks and to lift the spirits of those wounded in the service of their country.

On Monday, the president is set to make a more common public trip - with reporters in tow - to Walter Reed Army Medical Center, home to many of the wounded and a symbol of controversy earlier in his presidency over the quality of care the veterans were receiving.

GIVING SUPPORT: Vice President Dick Cheney, an avid fly-fisherman, practices his cast with wounded troops from Walter Reed Army Medical Center during one of the half-dozen barbecues he’s hosted at his Naval Observatory home. (White House photo)

But the size and scope of Mr. Bush’s and Mr. Cheney’s private endeavors to meet with wounded soliders and families of the fallen far exceed anything that has been witnessed publicly, according to interviews with more than a dozen officials familiar with the effort.

“People say, ‘Why would you do that?’” the president said in an Oval Office interview with The Washington Times on Friday. “And the answer is: This is my duty. The president is commander in chief, but the president is often comforter in chief, as well. It is my duty to be - to try to comfort as best as I humanly can a loved one who is in anguish.”

Mr. Bush, for instance, has sent personal letters to the families of every one of the more than 4,000 troops who have died in the two wars, an enormous personal effort that consumed hours of his time and escaped public notice. The task, along with meeting family members of troops killed in action, has been so wrenching - balancing the anger, grief and pride of families coping with the loss symbolized by a flag-draped coffin - that the president often leaned on his wife, Laura, for emotional support.

“I lean on the Almighty and Laura,” Mr. Bush said in the interview. “She has been very reassuring, very calming.”

Mr. Bush also has met privately with more than 500 families of troops killed in action and with more than 950 wounded veterans, according to White House spokesman Carlton Carroll. Many of those meetings were outside the presence of the news media at the White House or at private sessions during official travel stops, officials said.

The first lady said those private visits, many of which she also attended, took a heavy emotional toll, not just on the president, but on her as well.

“It is just so unbelievably emotional to be with the families, for everybody involved. I mean for us and for them and for everyone,” she said in a telephone interview with The Times on Saturday. “I’m very aware of how emotional it is and how draining it is for the president and for me, too. Both of us. But I think we do support each other, not by saying anything so much, but just by the comfort of each other’s presence, both when we are with the families and then afterward when we are alone.”

It's beginning to look a lot like spring, in Idaho and Utah

Ahhh, winter in central Florida. Temps have regularly been in the upper 70's to mid 80's all week. I keep hearing about these blizzards and cold fronts, but not here. Well, maybe tomorrow. I think the high is supposed to be in the upper 50's. Brrrr...cold!!!

It's taking some getting used to and it's harder to get into the spirit of Christmas, but I'm sure we'll be there soon. After all, I am much more accustomed to snuggling up next to a wood burning stove at this time of the year with a steaming hot cup of cocoa than I am with having to turn the A/C back on.

You are going to have to wait longer for my new photos from my new camera. Kyrie's software for her Fuji keeps popping open when I plug in my Canon and messes everything up. I spent a couple of hours trying to fix it last night before giving up. In the meantime, the above are two pics taken in our city. One is a beautiful sunrise over a local lake here, and the other is what the fog has been like for the past week. As I was driving Kyrie to get her wisdom teeth removed on Friday, we only had about 10 feet of visibility for awhile. And the other???? I don't know what the hell that thing is. But if it was pulled out of one of the lakes around here I know I'm not going to be going water skiing any time soon!!! Fighting the gators is bad enough. Throw that thing into the mix and I will be having full blown panic attacks! Merry Christmas indeed!

My Funny Stoned Chipmunk

Kyrie had her wisdom teeth removed today. She was really funny in the recovery room. The nurse said she hasn't had a patient that "chatty" for a very long time. Kyrie was just talking away with some other teen in the room. The nurse couldn't understand her, but aparently the girls could understand each other. She was a bit loopy all morning and was pretty funny on the drive home. After Dan got up from his nap and saw her he wanted to know what was wrong. (She sounds like she has a severe speech impediment with all of the gauze in her mouth.) When he heard that the Dr had taken out some of her teeth he was quite angry.

"I'm gonna go to those Dr's and beat them up and get your teeth back." Awww...what a sweet protective little brother.

We spent our first day of Christmas vacation, yesterday, at Sea World. It was the PERFECT day (minus the arguing siblings). 85 degrees, low humidity, and no lines. The only bummer was we didn't get there until 2:00pm and they closed at 6:00pm. Lucky for us we only live 45 minutes away and have year passes now. We will avoid the theme parks like the plague for the next 4 weeks, but try to hit them again in mid to late January.

I purchased myself a new camera and have lots of photos to add, but will have to do it later. Don't let the suspense make you crazy!

My new look

FACEinHOLE

Create your own FACEinHOLE

ASA Concert Series

I just have to tell everyone how impressed I am with the performing arts program at our kids' school. The middle school's orchestra is hands down the best I have heard. Kade was going to play the bassoon again this year, even though they are strings only, until we learned that a new starter one costs upwards of 12Gs. He picked the bass instead and plays it so well. I'm really pleasantly surprised with his musical abilities. His director also conducts the local Polk County symphony orchestra and teaches these kids amazing things. Kyrie is doing classical guitar. Her instructor is equally amazing. She is developing her musical talents as well. Yesterday she and I sang a Christmas duet for sacrament meeting. Everyone seemed to really enjoy it. There were even tears in a few eyes (and no John, not tears from pain). The last video is a song called "creatures" so the crazy notes you hear are on purpose. Sounds like a song for a track to a horror movie.

My Daily Dose of Entertainment (Courtesy of the 3 year old)

My kids are sometimes so strange. Geez, I wonder where they get that from. Today I've already heard:

"I go to Shell's house and knock on her door on Sunday."

Michelle is our good friend who just happens to live in ALABAMA. I called her and left a message on her voice mail that if it just so happens that my 3 year old shows up at her house on Sunday, knocking on her door, could she please call me and let me know where he is or that he made it.

"Don't let the crap get out of my poop!!"

What?!?! As he was running for the restroom to go poop, he said this to me, more than once. Some days I have to really wonder what goes through their little heads.

So, your directive for the day

DON'T LET THE CRAP GET OUT OF YOUR POOP!!!1

The BEST Christmas present EVER

The State of Fear

If you haven't done it yet, you really should read The State of Fear by Michael Crichton. I blogged about it awhile ago. It is well worth the 600+ pages and the over-use of the F Bomb. Now we have more than 650 international scientists dissenting over man-made global warming claims. "The UN global warming conference currently underway in Poland is about to face a serious challenge from over 650 dissenting scientists from around the globe who are criticizing the climate claims made by the UN IPCC and former Vice President Al Gore. Set for release this week, a newly updated U.S. Senate Minority Report features the dissenting voices of over 650 international scientists, many current and former UN IPCC scientists, who have now turned against the UN. The report has added about 250 scientists (and growing) in 2008 to the over 400 scientists who spoke out in 2007. The over 650 dissenting scientists are more than 12 times the number of UN scientists (52) who authored the media hyped IPCC 2007 Summary for Policymakers. "

The entire article is too long for me to cut and paste, but here is a link to it. It is worth the read. http://epw.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=Minority.Blogs&ContentRecord_id=2158072e-802a-23ad-45f0-274616db87e6

So, if you don't know what the State of Fear is, read the book, and then you will understand. Come back and we will discuss.

National "Day Without a Gay" Day, and No It's Not What You Think

Tomorrow is national "Day Without a Gay" day. You can call in to work, claim to be gay, and stay home for the day. What a concept (tongue in cheek). It is also set to coincide with International Human Rights Day, because come on, gay's rights are so being taken away. They cannot sit at the same counters as heterosexuals in cafes and restaurants. There are specific restrooms and water fountains for them to use so they don't spread their "gay" germs to the rest of us homophobic idiots, especially in the South. They have to sit in a separate area in theaters and on public transit. Oh, and my all time favorite way to discriminate against gays is not allowing them to attend the same schools as heterosexual children. (for more on Chicago's Gay High School click here)

In Philly, the city of Brotherly Love (and now we know why it is so called), so many teachers are supporting this "call in gay day" that they are worried about leaving enough behind to man the classrooms. And let's not forget their real goal here: "Scott Craig, a fifth-grade teacher at Independence Charter School in Philadelphia, had no problem requesting and being granted the day off. So many of the school's 60 teachers were eager to show support for gay rights they had to make sure enough stayed behind to staff classrooms.

About 25 teachers plan to take Wednesday off and to have their work covered by substitutes while they discuss ways to introduce gay issues to their students (emphasis added) and volunteer at the local branch of the American Civil Liberties Union, Craig said. A letter telling parents why so many teachers would be out went home Monday.

"We want to get the conversation going in the community that gay is not bad," Craig said. "For kids to hear that in a positive light can be life-changing." (By LISA LEFF, Associated Press Writer)

So there you have it. They are taking the day off of work to better their goal of indoctrination. They want to introduce gay topics to your children because you are too homophobic to do it yourself in a "politically correct" and positive way.

Now, if I could only get a national "Call in with PMS" day on the calendar I would be set. After all, who should have to work while suffering with cramps, bloating, fatigue and moodiness. Surely there is some woman's civil right being violated every day I have to work when I have PMS.

That's The Way I Roll

Just in case you're wondering I found the Ferrari that I want. Informed my lucky husband that he has to fork out the cash for this for me in the next couple of years. Yes Truman. I will let you drive it.

Like other modern Ferraris, this one is fabricated from aluminum to keep mass under control. The 460 hp 4.3L V8 is the first from Maranello to use direct injection while following the racing tradition of using a flat-plane crankshaft. This car of firsts also debuts the production application of a dual clutch gearbox from Ferrari. The 7-speed unit is mounted in a rear transaxle configuration and should provide smoother shifting and even better performance than the existing hydraulically-actuated units that Ferrari currently uses. Acceleration to 60 mph should come in under 4.0 seconds.

The California is also Ferrari's first retractable hardtop convertible. From the shape of the hood scoop and headlights to the sweep of the rear fenders and vents behind the front wheels this car obviously draws on the heritage of the original 1960s 250 GT California. At the same time, it's blended with modern Ferrari design elements drawn from the current F430 and 599.

The engine is also in the front. I like that feature. It also has 2 "child" sized seats in the back. Now just picture it in a dark sky blue. Beautiful.

It's time for the annual '2008 Stella Awards'!

The fact that these are real lawsuits, real people, and real verdicts simplifies things. Our country is full of complete idiots. Plain and simple. The smart, normal, "Joe the Plumbers" in our country are being screwed over and over and over again.

For those unfamiliar with these awards, they are named after 81-year-old Stella Liebeck, who spilled hot coffee on herself and successfully sued the McDonald's in New Mexico where she purchased the coffee. You may remember, she took the lid off of the coffee and put it between her knees while she was driving. Who would ever think she could get burned doing that, right? These awards are for the most outlandish lawsuits and verdicts in the U.S. You know, the kinds of cases that make you shake your head. Here are the Stellas for the past year:

7th Place :Kathleen Robertson of Austin, Texas was awarded $80,000 by a jury of her peers after breaking her ankle tripping over a toddler who was running inside a
furniture store. The store owners were understandably surprised by the verdict, considering the running toddler was her own son.

6th Place :Carl Truman, 19, of Los Angeles, California won $74,000 plus medical expenses when his neighbor ran over his hand with a Honda Accord. Truman apparently didn't notice there was someone at the wheel of the car when he was trying to steal his neighbor's hubcaps.

5th Place :Terrence Dickson, of Bristol, Pennsylvania, was leaving a house he had just burglarized by way of the garage. Unfortunately for Dickson, the automatic garage door opener malfunctioned and he could not get the garage door to open. Worse, he couldn't re-enter the house because the door connecting the garage to the house locked when Dickson pulled it shut. Forced to sit for eight, count 'em, EIGHT days on a case of Pepsi and a large bag of dry dog food, he sued the homeowner's insurance company claiming undue mental anguish. Amazingly, the jury said the
insurance company must pay Dickinson $500,000 for his anguish. We should
all have this kind of anguish!

4th Place :Jerry Williams, of Little Rock, Arkansas, garnered 4th place in the Stellas when he was awarded $14,500 plus medical expenses after being bitten on the rear by his next door neighbor's beagle-even though the beagle was on a chain in its owner's fenced yard. Williams did not get as much as he asked for because the jury believed the beagle might have been provoked at the time of the rear bite because Williams had climbed over the fence into the yard and repeatedly shot the dog with a pellet gun.

3rd Place :Third place goes to Amber Carson of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, because a jury ordered a Philadelphia restaurant to pay her $113,500 after she slipped on a
spilled soft drink and broke her tailbone. The reason the soft drink was on the floor: Ms. Carson had thrown it at her boyfriend 30 seconds earlier during an argument.

2nd Place :Kara Walton, of Claymont, Delaware, sued the owner of a night club in a nearby city because she fell from the bathroom window to the floor knocking out her two front teeth. Even though Ms. Walton was trying to sneak through the ladies room window to avoid paying the $3.50 cover charge, the jury said that the night club
had to pay her $12,000...plus dental expenses.

And 1st Place :(are you ready for this)This year's runaway First Place Stella Award winner was...Mrs. Merv Grazinski, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, who purchased a new 32-foot Winnebago motor home. On her first trip home from an OU football game, having driven onto the freeway, she set the cruise control at 70 mph and calmly left the driver's seat to go to the back of the Winnebago to make herself a sandwich. Not surprisingly, the motor home left the freeway, crashed and overturned. Also not surprisingly, Mrs. Grazinski sued Winnebago for not putting in the owner's manual that she couldn't actually leave the driver's seat while the cruise control was set. The Oklahoma jury awarded her (are you sitting down?) ...$1,750,000 PLUS a new motor home. Winnebago actually changed their manuals as a result for this suit, just in case Mrs. Grazinski has any relatives who might also buy a motor home. You can't fix stupid...and now it's profitable!

Okay, okay. In case you are staring at your screen with your mouth wide open and drool oozing out, close it now. Those aren't real. BUT, the following are:

The 2006 True Stella Awards

Issued 31 January 2007

confirm these are legitimate.
)

#5: Marcy Meckler. While shopping at
a mall, Meckler stepped outside and was "attacked" by a squirrel that
lived among the trees and bushes. And "while frantically attempting
to escape from the squirrel and detach it from her leg, [Meckler]
fell and suffered severe injuries," her resulting lawsuit says.
That's the mall's fault, the lawsuit claims, demanding in excess of
$50,000, based on the mall's "failure to warn" her that squirrels
live outside.

#4: Ron and Kristie Simmons. The
couple's 4-year-old son, Justin, was killed in a tragic lawnmower
accident in a licensed daycare facility, and the death was clearly
the result of negligence by the daycare providers. The providers were
clearly deserving of being sued, yet when the Simmons's discovered
the daycare only had $100,000 in insurance, they dropped the case
against them and instead sued the manufacturer of the 16-year-old
lawn mower because the mower didn't have a safety device that 1) had
not been invented at the time of the mower's manufacture, and 2) no
safety agency had even suggested needed to be invented. A sympathetic
jury still awarded the family $2 million.

#3: Robert Clymer. An FBI agent
working a high-profile case in Las Vegas, Clymer allegedly created a
disturbance, lost the magazine from his pistol, then crashed his
pickup truck in a drunken stupor -- his blood-alcohol level was 0.306
percent, more than three times the legal limit for driving in Nevada.
He pled guilty to drunk driving because, his lawyer explained, "With
public officials, we expect them to own up to their mistakes and
correct them." Yet Clymer had the gall to sue the manufacturer of his
pickup truck, and the dealer he bought it from, because he "somehow
lost consciousness" and the truck "somehow produced a heavy smoke
that filled the passenger cab." Yep: the drunk-driving accident
wasn't his fault, but the truck's fault. Just the kind of guy you
want carrying a gun in the name of the law.

#2: KinderStart.com. The specialty
search engine says Google should be forced to include the KinderStart
site in its listings, reveal how its "Page Rank" system works, and
pay them lots of money because they're a competitor. They claim by
not being ranked higher in Google, Google is somehow infringing
KinderStart's Constitutional right to free speech. Even if by some
stretch they were a competitor of Google, why in the world would they
think it's Google's responsibility to help them succeed? And if
Google's "review" of their site is negative, wouldn't a government
court order forcing them to change it infringe on Google's
Constitutional right to free speech?

And the winner of the 2006 True Stella
Award:
Allen Ray Heckard. Even though Heckard is 3 inches
shorter, 25 pounds lighter, and 8 years older than former basketball
star Michael Jordan, the Portland, Oregon, man says he looks a lot
like Jordan, and is often confused for him -- and thus he deserves
$52 million "for defamation and permanent injury" -- plus $364
million in "punitive damage for emotional pain and suffering", plus
the SAME amount from Nike co-founder Phil Knight, for a grand total
of $832 million. He dropped the suit after Nike's lawyers chatted
with him, where they presumably explained how they'd counter-sue if
he pressed on.

Betcha didn't know this, but due to the huge amount of green house emissions produced annually in the US, large game buck are now ravaging the country side and attacking hunters, thus changing the game from the hunted to the predators. Well, not really. But I'm sure some scientist will come up with a study to prove just that after reading this article. (BTW, my family moved to ID from Sedalia, MO in '79. Betcha didn't know that either...crazy @$$ Missourians!!!)

SEDALIA, Mo. — A Sedalia hunter bagged a big buck on the second day of firearms season, but the kill caused him a lot of pain.

Forty-nine-year-old Randy Goodman said he thought two well-placed shots with his .270-caliber rifle had killed the buck on Nov. 19. Goodman said the deer looked dead to him, but seconds later the nine-point, 240-pound animal came to life.

The buck rose up, knocked Goodman down and attacked him with his antlers in what the veteran hunter called "15 seconds of hell." The deer ran a short distance and went down, and died after Goodman fired two more shots.

Soon Goodman started feeling dizzy and noticed his vest was soaked in blood.

So he reached his truck and drove to a hospital, where he received seven staples in his scalp and was treated for a slight concussion and bruises.

Update to Is a General Mobilization Occuring?

Sorry for my week long hiatus. I have so much to blog about and share from our fabulous Thanksgiving week with family and friends, but that will have to wait a little bit longer as I am still way behind on necessary house wife duties. I've already done 10 loads of laundry since Sat. and have about 3 more to go, so you get the idea.

This story was reported today on numerous sites, including Drudge. I think this may be what rightsoup was referring to. Maybe, maybe not, but it is another troubling "blip" on the radar of things that are coming and will be interesting to say the least.

WASHINGTON -- The US Department of Defense plans to deploy 20,000 troops nationwide by 2011 to help state and local officials respond to terror or nuclear attacks and emergencies, The Washington Post said Monday.

Citing Pentagon officials, the newspaper said the plan calls for three rapid-reaction forces.

The first 4,700-strong unit, built around an active-duty combat brigade, is based at Fort Stewart , Georgia , and is already available for deployment, according to General Victor Renuart, commander of the US Northern Command, it said.

Two additional groups will later join nearly 80 smaller National Guard and reserve units made up of about 6,000 troops to support local and state authorities nationwide, The Post said.

They will all would be trained to respond to domestic chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, or high-yield explosive attacks.

The newspaper said that civil liberties groups and libertarians had expressed concern that the plan could undermine the Posse Comitatus Act, a 130-year-old law restricting the military's role in domestic law enforcement.

Rightsoup.com did have this to say about the plan.
In a Sept. 8th article from the Army Times, it was reported that a force of 3,000 troops, the 3rd Infantry Division’s 1st Brigade Combat Team, were to be stationed on active duty at Fort Stewart Georgia for the purposes of helping with “civil unrest and crowd control”. After a wave of critical media attention (mainly from the activist blogs) they chose to change the language of that mandate, yet they continued to train with weapons both lethal and “non-lethal” for crowd control operations. Prison Planet reports that

“During numerous urban warfare drills, troops were trained to raid, arrest and imprison U.S. citizens in detention camps as well as taking over public buildings and running checkpoints. During role playing exercises, actors playing prisoners would scream “I’m an American citizen, I have rights” as they were being dragged away by troops.”

Obama promised such a force during the presidential campaign, so this announcement shouldn’t surprise anyone. We’re going to get “change” that’s the equivalent of death by a thousand cuts to our Bill Of Rights. Why not just mandate that all able-bodied citizens be armed? It’s not a new idea!
