We had new family photos taken over spring break...will add more later. Would like to use this one as the header for my page, but don't know how to size it. Anyone care to tutor me in the process of how?

I Want My Dollar Back

I finally got to take a yoga class yesterday, only to have my cell phone (that I forgot to turn off) ring 20 minutes in. It was Jacob's school saying he had gotten into trouble and he was being sent home for the day.

What? Jacob? In trouble? Other than sometimes not doing his homework this kid is a happy go lucky kind of guy who is friendly to everyone.

The day before in carpool line he asked another little boy if he wanted a dollar. (He must've found one at home and put it in his backpack.) Jake told the kid he would give him a dollar if he beat up his little brother when he got home. The other kid thought that was a good deal.

Once this child got into his car his mom noticed he had a dollar and wanted to know where he got it. He promptly told her he had to beat up his little brother when he got home, as someone (Jacob) had given him a dollar to do it. Needless to say, she wasn't too happy with the situation. Really, I wouldn't have been either, except it was JACOB who said it and gave him the dollar. She went to the head of the school the next morning and wanted the situation "taken care of." So really, I'm not sure how she reacted. The principal said she was upset and like I said, I probably would've been too if the situation had been reversed. But I guess growing up with 6 brothers and having 3 boys of my own has taught me that boys, even when they are fully grown, say and do stupid things for no apparent reason all too often.

When questioned about it, Jacob said he didn't know why he did it, he just did. He wasn't upset with the boy or his brother. In typical Jacob fashion, he was being silly and trying to be cool by giving the kid a dollar. The principal said I needed to come get him as he was being sent home for the day as punishment. (I could hear him sobbing in the background, poor guy. He really hates getting into trouble and really felt bad.) I started to laugh when she told me this. I'm sure she thought I was a bit whack-o, but I told her that probably wasn't the best form of punishment for him as he doesn't like going to school. Going home would be a reward. Oh well. I picked him up, we had a good chat about the situation and why we can't just say whatever comes to our mind and the seriousness of asking someone to beat someone else up, grabbed some lunch on the way home, and he helped me plant my patio garden. When we picked up the older kids and he told them what happened they both laughed. Kade wanted to know why he was "so dumb." Wade said the same thing when he was told. We told Jake he needed to write an apology to the other child. I glibly suggested he add "and I want my dollar back."

Loads and Loads of Laundry

I was only gone for 3 days. 3 days people. Come on. How can I have done 6 loads of laundry yesterday, 3 loads of towels today, and still have one load of whites and one load of colors left to do? I'll tell you how. My hubby showers and changes clothes at least 3 times a day. Yep. Don't ask, don't tell. hahahaha Just kidding. He has to shower in the morning before going to work....even though he just showered in the evening before going to bed....because he was sweaty, dirty from baseball or yard work....after he showered from coming home from work. Whew. Just makes me tired thinking about it. Not to mention the fact that my boys do not know how to hang up a towel after they use it one time. It always ends up on the floor, where it sits, wet and stinking, until I gather them up. Even if I tell them to hang them up right after they get out of the bath, nada.

I'm consoling myself with frozen thin mint Girl Scout cookies. I am starting to feel a bit better. Maybe reading a little more Twilight and an afternoon nap will fix everything right up?

Where to begin?

I'm so behind on my blogging. Don't know which story to begin with. Spent a fun weekend in Atlanta watching the First Robotics championships. Believe it or not, it was really fun. Nerds know how to have fun?!? JUST KIDDING!!!! I'll fill in more about that trip later, and I promise I will get pics up soon.

First I want to tell you all about something that happened a few weeks ago at the kids school. A few times this year a teenage boy has pulled out in front of me, from a stop sign, to get to his parking place. I really don't care as I'm going slow and I would stop and let him go before me to park if A: I could see him and B: I could remember that he is in a hurry to get to his spot and into class. Usually I'm so busy watching out for pedestrians and other cars that I don't see him there or remember that he is that "kid that parks in that spot."

Two weeks ago, just back from spring break, he did it again. But this time I didn't see him in time to stop and let him go. No, he didn't hit me, but he had to wait for me to get in front of him so he could get to his parking spot. It was a chilly morning, both of us had our windows up, and I had a movie playing for Dan. That didn't stop me from hearing the obscenity he yelled at me. I just blew it off figuring he was having a bad morning. He pulled into his spot behind me, jumped out of his car, and continued his irate yelling, cussing, and belittling of me. I put my car in park, opened the side door, and said, "excuse me. But you have a stop sign there, and I'm sorry, but I can't read your mind." He slammed his trunk shut and yelled "SHUT-UP!!!!". I bit my tongue, but couldn't help but yell at him, "you need to grow up." Again, I got a very loud and rude, "SHUT UP!!" There were quite a few kids walking by. I asked one of them his name. She was chagrined to tell me, but did so.

By the time I got home and had had 20+ minutes to think about the whole situation, I had calmed down considerably. I called his mother and talked with her. I very calmly explained what happened. She was mortified. She apologized and continued to tell me he was in a bad place, things were bad at home (I'm guessing they are going through a divorce), he had been rejected by the 4 colleges he really wanted to go to, they had spent the previous night and that morning yelling at each other, and that she really wanted to find someone for him to talk to to help him figure things out. She literally talked to me for over an hour. Me. A complete stranger. She really needed to unload and couldn't believe that I was so calm about the incident. In the meantime, the kid had gone straight to the dean of students, told him what he had done, and I received a call from the school.

I am going to tell you straight up. I was really angry at first when the whole thing went down. But by the time I got home and had cooled off, I realized a few things. It wasn't worth being angry about, it wouldn't do anyone any good to make a big issue about it, but as a mother I would want to know if my child had behaved that way. That is why I called the mom to talk with her. By the time I got off of the phone with her and the dean, I had a strong impression that if I had reacted any differently, things would've been very bad for this boy. As it was, I really think he is going to get any help he may need with dealing with life which can be overwhelming for any of us.

Here is the letter of apology I received from him:

Mrs. Foster,

I am writing this to explain how truly sorry I am for my actions on Tues. My behavior was not only unacceptable but embarrassing as well. I am disgusted with myself at the way I acted and am willing to make amends to you and your family in any way you see necessary.

I would like you to know that my actions were not in any way out of personal hostility toward you, but a resultant of a buildup of emotions due to personal issues at home, causing me to lose my composure and erupt the way I did. I would like to explain that such behavior is very uncharacteristic of me and once again, derives from mounting stress I have experienced over the last few weeks.

Once again, I am truly sorry for my appalling behavior and deeply regret the fact that you had to meet me under such unfortunate circumstances.

Now, if only the mother of the boy that punched Jacob in the nose at baseball, someone from his own team no less, had responded and reacted as nicely. No. This woman actually made excuses for her son and never once apologized. Nice.

AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry today joined state Rep. Brandon Creighton and sponsors of House Concurrent Resolution (HCR) 50 in support of states’ rights under the 10th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

“I believe that our federal government has become oppressive in its size, its intrusion into the lives of our citizens, and its interference with the affairs of our state,” Gov. Perry said. “That is why I am here today to express my unwavering support for efforts all across our country to reaffirm the states’ rights affirmed by the Tenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. I believe that returning to the letter and spirit of the U.S. Constitution and its essential 10th Amendment will free our state from undue regulations, and ultimately strengthen our Union.”

A number of recent federal proposals are not within the scope of the federal government’s constitutionally designated powers and impede the states’ right to govern themselves. HCR 50 affirms that Texas claims sovereignty under the 10th Amendment over all powers not otherwise granted to the federal government.

It also designates that all compulsory federal legislation that requires states to comply under threat of civil or criminal penalties, or that requires states to pass legislation or lose federal funding, be prohibited or repealed.

HCR 50 is authored by Representatives Brandon Creighton, Leo Berman, Bryan Hughes, Dan Gattis and Ryan Guillen.

I'm loving that so many states are doing this. Does it really mean anything? YES!!! It means there are many out there who feel the same way about our over bearing, too big federal gov't. Even Homeland Security is starting to sweat. Earlier this month they compiled a 9 page report about right wing radicals and sent it out to police agencies nation wide. A footnote attached to the report by the Homeland Security Office of Intelligence and Analysis defines "rightwing extremism in the United States" as including not just racist or hate groups, but also groups that reject federal authority in favor of state or local authority.

Guess it's true. I am a right wing extremist. The thing is, that doesn't mean violence. I'm not a member of a militia. I'm not a member of some "fringe" group that advocates violence against the feds. But I do have a few suggestions for them. How about they spend time investigating the fraud and oppression of Congress, the Obamanation administration, and all of his crooked appointees instead of trying to put fear into everyday people like me and the many thousands across the country who have attended Tea Parties and protests? I really think that this is what it is all about. The multitudes are getting angry. They are starting to speak out and the feds are starting to sweat. They want to silence the masses. Too little, too late. Many states have now passed resolutions reaffirming their constitutionally protected sovereignty from the federal gov't and it's overreaching power. If the federal gov't wasn't doing things that constitutionally it isn't even allowed to do, these states wouldn't feel it necessary to take such actions.

So, now really, who is the oppressor? Who is it that is taking away freedoms? Who is it that is involved in your every day life and wants to have more control over you? Who is wrong and who is right? I know which side I'm on.

So, while there are many Americans who don't even know where they will get the money for their next meal, the man who claims to be their President, the man who says he wants to "spread the wealth around", the man who is bankrupting our country and mortgaging our children's and grandchilren's futures, is flying a chef 860 miles to the White House because he liked his pizza.

When you're the president of the United States, only the best pizza will do - even if that means flying a chef 860 miles.

Chris Sommers, 33, jetted into Washington from St Louis, Missouri, on Thursday with a suitcase of dough, cheese and pans to to prepare food for the Obamas and their staff.

He had apparently been handpicked after the President had tasted his pizzas on the campaign trail last autumn.

'It's surreal, it's a huge honour,' said Mr Sommers, who owns Pi restaurant in St Louis.

'It will be a casual lunch and hopefully we'll have a chance to say hello to the president.'

Mr Somers was accompanied by this business parnter Ryan Mangilardo who will help prepare the dinner for 140 this evening.

It will feature his signature dishes - ten deep dish and ten thin crust creations.

Hmmmm....I'm thinking that every wicked, evil spirit that followed Satan in the preexistence is working overtime. With the amount of mass shootings, killings, abuse cases there have been lately, it makes one wonder. If I was truly a right wing nut I'd just blame it all on Obama, but alas, that would be giving him too much credit. Certainly something he doesn't deserve.

TAMPA, Fla. -- A Tampa man is in jail after police say he tortured a 10-year-old relative because she found his stash of pornographic movies.

Tampa police said they received an anonymous tip that 36-year-old Moslim Al Assadi tied the girl's hands behind her back and forced her into a partially filled bathtub where he dunked her head under water several times. The girl's siblings watched the incident. They said she turned blue while being dunked in the water. Tampa police detectives along with child protection investigators went to the home Thursday and removed the victim and two other children. Police said Al Assadi has been investigated on child abuse allegations two other times, but each time investigators cleared him of any wrongdoing. He is charged with aggravated child abuse.

Let's hope this time the charges stick and this man goes to jail and meets a few of his "72 virgins".

Spring Break Highlights

*Getting up at 4:00am to make our 6:25am flight out of Tampa.
*Finding out our flight has 2 stops.
*First stop, Houston. Get stranded in Houston as we find our flight through Denver has been canceled. Hello springtime winter storms.
*Spend 3 hours in Houston, finally get re-routed through LA. I thought I wouldn't be back there for a LONGGGGG time.
*Spend 2 hours in LA on a lay over.
*Arrive in SLC 6 hours later than expected...dead tired.
*Kind and valiant man at Enterprise looks at me with 4 kids, 4 suit cases, and a big car seat as I am getting ready to stuff everyone and everything into the Camry. Offers to give me a SUV for the same price. Wow. What a guy!!!
*Drive to Poky and see Granparents who have been in the Ukraine for 16 months.
*Seeing 23 cousins together at homecoming report.
*Visiting other Granparents in IF.
*Getting hair highlighted finally covering those white take overs. Thank you Lunatic Fringe in SLC. I really like it.
*Wade finally meeting Amanda. Geez, it only took 3 years.
*Snow, snow, wind, cold, blowing snow, horizontal snow, snow drifts, cold, wind, slush, ice, snow, cold, did I say snow? Daniel seeing snow for the first time in his memory.
*Boys have snowball fight and love it until Kade smacks Jake in the face, on purpose.
*Being introduced to The Great and Terrible series by Chris Stewart. 4 down, 2 to go.
*Kyrie spends lots of time with Kait. Kade does too. Jacob and Tayte attached at hip. Dan LOVES that there are so many boys his age around. Johnny MIA but wins his regional robotics tournament. Now on to Atlanta.
*Daniel gets sick. Fever, cough, runny nose. Anti-biotic kicks in, but his cough is still horrible. To the point of throwing up a few times last night while hacking up a lung. Poor guy. New cough medicine with codeine should solve that problem.
*Guitar Hero. Need I say more?
*Flight home also has two stops. At least no delays, but have I learned my lesson. Going back for the summer I am taking a direct flight. I'll pay the extra $50 per ticket thank you very much.
