Just so you all know...
I booked a hotel room on Travelocity right before I pulled into town. The rate was $79. Well, when I checked into the hotel their actual rate was $49 a night. Great!! A savings and the rooms weren't that great so $49 seemed much more reasonable to me. Well, I look on my credit card and I was charged the $79 plus by Travelocity. The check out sheet from the hotel showed the $49 rate, so I called Travelocity this morning. Of course, the woman at customer service was clearly from India and had an accent that was hard to understand, but apparently they can charge me the $79 because the difference is their profit margin!!! $30 for booking a hotel for me online. I told her that was ridiculous and that I would NEVER use Travelocity again. We've used them several times a year. Just FYI and pass it on.

Just keep Driving, Just Keep Driving, Just Keep Driving, Driving, Driving
What do you do, you drive, and drive and drive some more. We started out in California, crossed into Nevada, Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, and are stopping for a bit in Alabama. Next, we will go through Georgia and finally make it to Florida. We are having fun at the Bowen's. Saw many former friends today at church. Chet is working hard to get us a closing date this week. The movers want to deliver on the 2nd. I told them that wasn't going to work, but don't know if I have a choice.

I Know Who I Am, How About You?
Daniel is so precocious. If I call him anything other than Daniel, D-Oh, or Dan, he will so, "No I Daniel." I like to call him Turkey Lurkey and he'll get made at me and scream, "NO I DANIEL!" Yesterday afternoon Wade was out back getting things together in the garage. The boys were with him. Our lovely neighbor walks by and Daniel says, "Hi neighbor, I Daniel. This is Kade, this is Jacob, and this is Dad (pointing to each in turn)." Wade just laughed and laughed. It is comical since she really doesn't like him, or any of the kids really, but he is so innocent that he would be friendly to her. He definitly knows who he is. Too bad so many of us lose sight of that as we age.
Still no exact closing date. Movers come in the morning and I guess we will see what happens.

One Week to Go
The week countdown has begun. I can hardly believe it is finally here!!! The movers come Friday morning, so I am trying my best to be ready for them. We still don't have a closing date on our home. The appraisal company that we hired didn't pull comps for the house that were actually comps, but rather went off of square footage alone. They never finished the appraisal, just decided that they couldn't come up with the sale's price and stopped. I'm hoping they got their act together, pulled some true comps, and will have the report for us Mon morning so we can see where we are at. It has been a frustrating process. My agent isn't too worried and thinks that once they do their homework and find true comps the price will be fine. The lender called me on Tues and after having promised numerous times there would be no problem with a 100% loan, told me they wouldn't do it. They would only do the first XXX amount at 100% then the rest would be a 2nd mortgage at 9 2/8% interest making our monthly payment about $500 more a month. We will just have to pay it off or refinance it when we get settled.
My neighbor has yelled at the kids a couple of more times out of her window while they've been outside playing. I was going to try and be nice, but I've had it. I'm revising my letter and mailing it to her on Mon. Then, when she gets it and blows her top, she can kiss my you know what and I'll have no problem telling her that and telling her to leave my kids and family alone.
Daniel has been running a high fever since last night. Tylenol finally broke it this afternoon and he is sleeping again. Hopefully whatever he has won't be passed around to everyone else right when we need to be traveling.
We sure could use some prayers our way that things will all work out okay and that nobody else will get sick.

I believe in the tooth fairy too....
Jacob is ready to lose another tooth. It should come out any time now. They grow up too fast if you ask me, and then, some days, not fast enough.
Daniel slept in his bed until 7:00 am this morning. WOW!! Two nights in a row. Do I dare hope for three? It is funny to watch him make suckling motions with his mouth when he is still asleep. He hasn't asked for nums for a couple of days now. Don't they say that it takes two weeks to make or break a habit? It has been two weeks now and things are looking up.
Only 10 days to go until we leave....I can't wait, but yet, am a little sad as I am finally making some friends at church and getting to know people.

Yes Chrisjonna, There Really is a Santa Claus
If I could wish for anything for Christmas it would be for Daniel to start sleeping through the night in his own bed. Last night, for the first time, he slept IN HIS BED until 5:00am. I thought it was great. Let's hope this is the beginning of a new trend.
I found some pics of the home we have a contract on. Since the link is gone here they are...

The Beverly Hillbillies
No, I am not refuring (spelling is intentional here) to us um Fosters, but the crazy a** hicks who were up in the hills camping next to the scouts friday night. As Daniel and I were enjoying our relatively quiet night (Wade had both older boys and Kyrie was at a friend's house) I hear the back gate open at 2:30 and the back door being unlocked. Here comes Wade carrying Jacob, drops him in his bed, and goes back out for Kade. Apparently there was only one other campground being used where ever it is they were and it was occupied by a bunch of STUPID rednecks (I feel I should say that I have known plenty of really nice, down to earth rednecks who would give you the shirt off of their back, granted, it would be a emblazoned with a NASCAR or beer logo, but they would give it to you) who were drinking, playing loud heavy metal all night, and being obnoxiously rude. Around 1:00am the leaders overheard them plotting to come into the scout's campground to "get them" or something along those lines, and didn't feel safe. They proceeded to throw everything pellmell into their vehicles and leave as quickly as they could as they truly feared for their safety. Sad.
