One More Reason to HATE the UN

This is just sick and wrong and quite scary. Why they think they can't leave these types if discussions and lessons to the parents is beyond me. For those of you dead beat parents out there who don't teach your kids...too freaking bad. Your lack of responsibility is only reducing my rights and freedoms as a parent and I'm getting really sick of it.

New York, NY (AHN) - The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) is recommending the voluntary teaching of sexuality education, including masturbation and aphrodisiacs, starting at age five to prevent HIV and sexually transmitted diseases.

The recommendation is contained in the UNESCO report called “International Guidelines for Sexuality Education” released in June at the 19th World Association for Sexual Health (WAS) Congress held in Göteborg, Sweden.

Under the UNESCO guidelines, children are divided into age groups and each group will have corresponding sexuality education topics. Kids age 5 to 8 will be taught what masturbation is while those age 9 to 12 will learn the positive and negative effects of aphrodisiacs.

At age 12 to 15, children will learn abortion and its safety. Those age 15 to 18 will be taught on advocating the right to and access to safe abortion.

Dr. Doug Kirby, an adolescent sexuality expert, and Nanette Ecker, the former director of international education and training at the Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States authored the guidelines.

The Citizens for a Responsible Curriculum called the guidelines absurd. However, Mark Richmond, director of UNESCO’s Division for the Coordination of U.N. Priorities in Education, defended the guidelines saying it will help kids develop understanding of sexual behavior.

Saturday is a Special Day

Saturday is a special day it's the day we almost get side swiped by Hulk Hogan....
Yes indeed. While going to the Recess Rally Tea Party in Orlando on Sat. a gorgeous black Dodge SRT8 almost side swiped me, and NO JOKE...it was Hulk Hogan driving. Hmmm...like father like son? He too was attending the Tea Party to promote his new company that helps reduce your property tax amount. Apparently, he saved himself $29,000 on his gorgeous home that was just awarded to his ex-wife. $29,000 in savings. Wow. Must be some house.

The Tea Party was great. Over 4,000 people protesting ObamaCare and the outrageous spending spree our federal legislature has been on. Can't wait for the party in DC next month.

Jacob was also baptized and confirmed on Sat. It was a very nice service made extra special by the attendance of his grandparents and aunt and uncle. We had a nice time while they were here. The kids were disappointed that they all had to go home today.

Yes, Saturday was a special day.

While driving home after dropping the kids off at school this morning, my three year old Dan asked the following (boy am I in for some trouble with this kid):

Mom? Does the green light mean go?
Yes Dan. The green light means go.
Does the red light mean stop?
Yes. Red means stop.
What does the orange mean?
Well, the YELLOW light means slow down or caution.

Swine Flu

Like I told many of you this summer....I won't be allowing any of my family to get the swine flu vaccination....even if it it "mandatory". One year I had a flu vaccination not knowing I was pregnant. A few weeks later I suffered a miscarriage. I'm not convinced that the vaccination didn't play a role in that event. Home Sweet Home

We did it. We survived a month away from home. We escaped mostly unharmed. Aside from thinking Dan had broken his leg (turned out okay), me almost breaking my foot (by firmly kicking Kade in the backside) and Jacob smashing his middle finger the night we left to fly home (it is so swollen, bruised, and ugly I think it must be broken) we are here and in one piece.

We had fun. Spent the first week with Wade's family sleeping in, playing in the dirt and pond, exploiting my new found Boggle skills, and enjoying good food. Then my family did a reunion at Cherry Hill, Lagoon, and even visited the AirForce Museum in Kaysville. I had my 20th HS reunion and we ran the river out of Hoback (I only fell out of the raft twice, almost swallowing at least 1/2 have of the Snake River in the process). Somehow, we didn't do any water skiing. Chalk it up to the extended, much needed rain southeast Idaho received making the waters very cold for the summer.

The kids even survived the month with no TV. None. Zip. Zilch. Nothing. We did watch a few movies for those much needed down times. Kyrie discovered some cute 17 year olds, Kade was mostly bored because Caitlin is in China, Jacob loved playing with his cousins, and Dan awoke each morning wanting to call Carley and Keeley to find out when they would be over. There was some kissing going on, a lot of whining and complaining about going home, and I will miss the lunch in the park program that rescued me from having to provide lunch for my kids every day.

Over all, a very fun, successful vacation. I'll try to get some pics posted soon.
